1st Job of the Year

Well got one down and in the books. The job was supposed to start and roll out at 6:46am BUT there were a number of pilots that were caught up in a huge wreck on I-35. So we waited for 3 hours until everyone got finally together and in that time we noticed that I was having radio comms problems. So I was placed in the middle of the pack and had to pretty much pay attention to every aspect of what was going on. We rolled out at 10am and man was it a beautiful drive. I drove with my copilot and that kept the drive eventful since we have the same dark humor. Before we knew it, we were at our destination in New Braunfels, Tx. It was an uneventful day but we got our load there safe and sound.

I am used to escorts but from a different kind. Blocking traffic came all back to me and just really had fun with it.

Now enough about my day of escorting. I really want to discuss the importance of establishing a relationship with other pilot drivers. Why? Well, if you are on the job and several people call off, you can help out by calling other pilots who may be at the house waiting for a call. If this happens, I charge the pilot that I am calling a $25 finders fee for getting them a job.

Always remember, you're not working if you truly love your job.

Until next time, same bat channel, same bat station.
