When I started out this business, I got on facebook forums and Lord Jesus did I learn of the many deadbeat businesses in this profession. Now they are one in a few but one is enough in this industry.
What I cannot understand is why would you run your business check to check? You need capital to keep your business afloat. But there are some that like to thread that needle and test people's patience on how long they can go without paying.
As I see this, the l first thing I do is to reach out to a highschool friend of mine that is a lawyer and tell him that there may be a possibility that I may need his services in the future. Another thing that I learned is that a mechanic's lean can be placed on a businesses residence. Yup, you read that right. Here in Texas we don't play. Pay up or that big rig you love so much becomes mine. Pay up or your house becomes mine. Crazy thing is that it is all legal. More or less saying, LETS PLAY WHO HAS THE BIGGER BANK ACCOUNT.
If I have to take you to court... I treat it as when I had people run from me. And I hate running. I loathe running. But if you make me run after you and I catch you... YOU GET WHAT YOU GET. So if I have to sue, YOU GET WHAT YOU GET and I pray I hit you in the pocketbook hard enough that you leave this profession and never to return.
Here in a few days, I will be posting these deadbeat businesses. Some will be mine and some will be from other companies. I am just warning my fellow truckers and pilots of the evil businesses that lurk.
